It’s simple to join, and many people who qualify for membership don’t realize it.

When you become a member of Spectrum Credit Union, you’ll enjoy individualized customer service, high-quality and affordable financial services, and a community of like-minded member-owners.

What does it cost to join?

You can secure your share in Spectrum Credit Union with an initial deposit of $25 (or $50 for joint memberships) in a Primary Share Savings account.

Who is eligible to join?

With over 2,000 sponsor organizations and location-based, nonprofit-based, and relationship-based membership options, we welcome a wide range of members every year!

You are eligible if you meet one of the following criteria

  • Non-manual employees of Bechtel Corporation, its wholly-owned subsidiaries, and affiliated companies
  • Members and employees of a Spectrum Credit Union sponsor organization; for the full list of our sponsor organizations, visit the membership application or contact us — if your organization is not a sponsor, we can still help you join
  • Persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and business and other legal entities that are located in select areas in San Francisco, California, or Frederick County, Maryland
  • Members of our partner nonprofit associations
  • Family members or household members of an eligible person — even if this person hasn’t joined
  • Family members of a deceased member or eligible person — even if this person never joined

Did you know?

✓ Anyone who has ever worked for a qualifying employer, regardless of the length of time, is eligible to join. If you worked there for just one day, you can still join as a “retiree.”

✓ If your employment with a qualifying employer ends, you can still be a member of Spectrum Credit Union, and your family members and qualifying household members are still eligible to join. Once a member, always a member!
