The shares in your Spectrum Credit Union accounts are federally insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), an arm of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), to at least $250,000 per individual depositor, per account category. So you never have to wonder if your money is safe.

If you’re familiar with having a bank account, this is similar to the insurance offered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The NCUSIF is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States.
